Who Participates?

5th – 8th GRADE STUDENTS – ANTI-BULLYING PROGRAM

Stand by Me's 5th-8th grade anti-bullying program welcomes any student. Student members have comprised a broad spectrum of the student body, including students who have been victimized, students who have bullied, students who are popular and students who are outsiders. Both general education and special education students have participated successfully. Membership is designed to be inclusive, not exclusive.


Data-based anti-bullying program (students collect data on where and how they intervene, that can be used by administrators to target hotspots in their buildings).

Affordable: $35 per person for materials (training is priced and customized to meet your needs).

Easy to train: (Two hour training for faculty sponsors, who then serve as on-site trainers for your students and staff. Half-hour training for faculty and staff and one-hour training for students).

Sustainable: Sponsors can train other sponsors.

Website: Campus groups can share experiences; activities; artwork.

Support: Includes one year of consultation from Stand by Me staff.

An anti-bullying program that is safe and makes a difference, providing data to administrators about where and how often bullying occurs.

Teaches students how to help victims without confronting bullies. Creates a visible, school-wide community of support that does not tolerate bullying.

Starts ongoing conversations about what bullying is and when playfulness and teasing cross the line.

Provides opportunities for leadership that do not require special talents or abilities, only character and a willingness to help.

Motivates students to avoid disciplinary referrals.
